Ben Davis is a Navy SEAL veteran, endurance coach, writer, and the Executive Director of the Veterans Outdoor Advocacy Group (VOAG). Raised in Virginia, Ben developed an early passion for endurance and mountaineering. After attending the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, he enlisted in the Navy and served nine years in the SEAL Teams, completing three deployments while also earning an MBA from William & Mary.
As Executive Director of VOAG, Ben has helped advance the role of outdoor recreation in veteran mental health, contributing to legislative efforts reflected in the COMPACT Act, the EXPLORE Act, and other federal initiatives supporting veterans, public lands, and outdoor-based care.
For the past four years, Ben has coached endurance athletes, working with more than 100 athletes across running, cycling, mountain, and ultra-endurance disciplines. His fiction writing has been published in Alpinist Magazine, often exploring service, transition, endurance, identity, and the role of wild places in human life.
