Drew Petersen is a professional skier, ultrarunner, and storyteller on a mission to change our culture around mental health. By combining his athletic adventures with his writing, speaking, and filmmaking to share his personal story of navigating bipolar disorder, PTSD, and suicidality with raw, genuine vulnerability, “nobody has done more in skiing to bring mental health awareness to the forefront than Drew,” according to Freeskier Magazine.
His mold-breaking film Ups & Downs was dubbed “the most important ski film ever made” by thirty-year veteran ski journalist Jason Blevins of The Colorado Sun. His second signature film, Feel It All, garnered greater accolades and — by centering on his side-hobby of running 100-mile ultramarathons — broadened the conversation far beyond the sport of skiing.
He now hosts The Drew Petersen Podcast, recorded on a chairlift with a ski pole microphone, using candid conversations to make mental health more approachable. His writing has appeared in Outside, Powder, SKI Magazine, and more, connecting his personal journey to the mental health and suicide crisis of the Rocky Mountain West. As a sought-after speaker, Petersen has shared his story from prestigious stages like MIT to local high schools in mountain towns.
